NurseryBook launches free EYPP tool to help early years childcare practitioners access important funding

date July 31, 2015

Press release
NurseryBook is delighted to launch its free Early Years Pupil Premium help tool. This simple online tool, available now on NurseryBook’s website (nurserybook.co/eypp) to all early years childcare providers, helps identify children eligible for the EYPP and quickly gather all necessary information to apply to their Local Authority for this important funding.
NurseryBook CEO, Richard Barrell, comments, “All the Early Years childcare providers we have spoken to recently are finding it challenging to collect the information they need to apply for the EYPP. In one case, a nursery manager felt about 25% of her 3- and 4-year olds would be eligible but she had only managed to make applications for 8%. We wanted to do our bit to make this process easier, to allow childcare providers to access this crucial funding for the benefit of children. You do not need to be an existing client of NurseryBook to access this tool.”
NurseryBook Founder and CTO, Geraint Barton, adds, “Our free tool means childcare providers can quickly enter some background information online, and an easy to complete form will be sent to parents for them to fill out with the required details. This can then be printed and signed, ready to send to the Local Authority. Similar to our NurseryBook app, we have taken the paperwork out of the paperwork!”
Richard concluded, “Where the parents of eligible children don’t speak English as a first language, we believe that the clear explanation and simple online form will help support face-to-face communications and get the right result. We want to help practitioners access as much funding as is available to help EY childcare providers and parents work together to help close the attainment gap and give all children the best possible start in life. Giving all children the best start in life, no matter their background, is at the heart of everything we do at NurseryBook.”
