Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a requirement for all early years education practitioners. Kinderly Learn makes training and CPD easier by letting you learn what you want, where you want, at a time and pace that suits you.
Created in partnership with PACEY, Achievement for all and Bath Spa University.
As a busy practitioner, finding the time to do CPD can be difficult. To help with this, each ‘learning bite’ takes only a few minutes to complete. This means you can stay on top of your CPD requirements with a ‘little and often’ approach.
Watch videos and animations, take quizzes, complete interactive activities. All our learning is designed to be fun and engaging – as well as educational!
Choose what you want to learn and complete it when and where you want – at home, in the evenings, during nap time. No need to travel long distances or sit through long training courses not suited to your learning needs.
Sometimes learning new things is not enough – you need to reflect on what you have learnt and make sure you put it into practice. ‘Reflection points’ are included in every learning path to help you do this.
Choose what interests you from hundreds of learning bites, covering a wide range of topics – behaviour, special educational needs, observations, child development, technology, Ofsted and many more!
Demonstrate your commitment to learning and CPD. Through Kinderly Learn, you can show Ofsted, parents or your manager how much CPD you have completed and what topics you have learnt about.
Stuck on a particular problem and don’t know what to do? Our expert advisers are available any time you need advice you can trust. Submit your question via the ‘Ask an Expert’ forum and they will respond within 24 hours!
Need to keep up-to-date with the latest news and views in early years practice? Our monthly programme of webinars allows you to listen and learn from experts across a range of early years topics, such as Ofsted inspections, behaviour and safeguarding. Click Here to view our upcoming webinars.
Every week, we add a new learning path to the existing content, so there's always something new for you to learn.
Be rewarded for your efforts and achievements! With each learning bite you complete, you will earn points towards badges that show your commitment to learning and CPD and help keep you motivated.

Approaches to learning
It’s a piece of learning that will take between 2-5 minutes to complete.
Our learning bites come in lots of different shapes and sizes – including animations, quizzes, expert videos, fact sheets, interactive scenarios and activities and podcasts. They are all designed to be visual and fun to help you learn and remember things better.
CPD, or ‘continuing professional development’, is a lifelong process of learning. It’s about aiming for continuous improvement in your knowledge and skills as an early years practitioner, beyond the basic training you did at the start of your career.
CPD in early years education can be carried out in a number of ways – through face-to-face training, online training, webinars, reading magazines or blogs, or sharing good practice through a local childminding or early years group.
Kinderly Learn is unique in that it allows you to do flexible CPD, at a time and place that suits you.
PACEY recommend practitioners undertake a minimum of 15 hours of relevant training or CPD a year.
There are plenty of learning bites on Kinderly Learn to cover this requirement, but of course, you can supplement it with other types of training as needed.
It’s entirely up to you!
Kinderly Learn is a completely flexible learning platform – and the bite-sized learning approach means you can dip in and out as often as you wish.
Some practitioners like to put aside a dedicated time to do their CPD each week or month – and the topic-based format for Kinderly Learn means you can just work through a whole section of learning bites in one go.
Alternatively, any time you find yourself with a just a few moments to spare, you can log on and learn something new.
Yes – you’ll get a ‘CPD Record’ of what learning bites and webinars you have completed and how long you spent learning. You can save this and print it out to show parents, your manager or Ofsted evidence of your CPD.

The Ufi is a charitable trust aiming to improve vocational skills through digital solutions.
In 2017, Kinderly obtained a grant from Ufi to develop a learning platform that would help busy early years childcare professionals access high-quality training through mobile and web-based applications. This grant ended in March 2018 with an evaluation of the project by researchers at the University of West England and Bath Spa University.
