Alice Thornton – Symbolic understanding and its vital importance for early language development
Wednesday 18th Mar @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
£5
In young children, symbolic language is the foundational ability to use one thing—like a word, gesture, or object—to represent something else. When young children are learning and developing language, symbolic understanding is vitally important.
During this session, Alice Thornton, Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, will enable us to explore:
• each specific stage of pretend play development
• the cognitive shifts required in a young child’s brain
• how each stage links with and is needed for the stages of early language development
• impact on behaviour
• how to identify and support each level of progress within every day setting life.
Not a Kinderly member? That’s okay. Simply book this single webinar for only £5 (includes slides and CPD certificate).
