Dr Sue Allingham – Developmentally Appropriate Practice

Wednesday 4th Oct 2023 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What do we mean by Developmentally Appropriate Practice? In this session Dr Sue Allingham will discuss the expression ‘developmentally appropriate practice’ – also known as DAP – to establish its meaning and usefulness.

Through a series of examples and discussion Sue will look at how the expression is interpreted and reflect on a better way of understanding and developing practice and provision. Are we really doing what is ‘appropriate’? And if we are, then who is it ‘appropriate’ for, and how do we know?
