Dr Sue Robson & Dr Antonia Zachariou – Self-regulation in the early years
Wednesday 16th Nov 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
£5Why has young children’s self-regulation become such an important topic? In this webinar, early years academics Dr Sue Robson & Dr Antonia Zachariou will explore what self-regulation is, and why it matters for everyone working with and caring for young children.
Based on the learnings from their recently published book, Self-Regulation in the Early Years, Sue and Antonia will initially explore:
- What self-regulation is and how it develops
- How self-regulation is affected by children’s relationships – with adults and one another
- How practitioners can observe, assess and document young children’s self-regulation to gain a clear picture of their competence
- How to develop self-regulation through communication, play, music and problem-solving and all across the curriculum.
- The webinar will conclude with a look at how we can plan – and not plan – to support young children’s self-regulation.
