About the speaker
Melanie Pilcher has 35 years’ experience working in early years. Her previous roles include nursery manager, college lecturer, early years development officer, and NHS Care Co-ordinator.
Melanie has been Quality and Standards Manager at the Early Years Alliance for nearly 20 years and maintains a passion for ensuring that every child has the best possible start in life. Her role with the Alliance has seen her travel to Asia and Europe to share best practice with early years educators; she has also written many publications, and training resources, and is a member of advisory groups working with the DfE. Melanie’s key specialisms are health and safety, safeguarding, curriculum and all things relating to the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory requirements.
