In this webinar, early years expert Dr Valerie Daniel* will explore the diversity within different ethnic minority groups and how best to enhance our provision to raise their achievement.

There has been much focus on supporting children with English as an Additional Language, but many children from from different ethnic minority groups are monolingual.  Do we understand their distinct needs? Are we planning for their needs to raise their achievement ?

In this session we aim to:

• Better understand who our children from different ethnic minority groups are and the challenges facing them
• Explore key strategies to better meet the distinct needs for supporting their achievement
• Consider how to review, refine current practice and plan for developing global perspectives

About the Speaker

Dr Valerie Daniel is a qualified teacher with over 30 years’ experience, with the last 14 years in the role of a Maintained Nursery School headteacher. Valerie is a Doctor of Education, a trained systems leader, and leadership mentor for other headteachers and leaders in the Early Years Sector.
