Using reflection to challenge bias and celebrate strengths: This thought-provoking webinar invites you to look beyond the surface and explore identity through the lens of the unique child. Together, we will reflect on how bias, norms, and assumptions shape our practice, often in unnoticed ways.
We will consider how to move from deficit thinking to a strengths-based approach. Guided reflection will give you practical insights to better recognise, value, and support each child’s story in your setting. Join us and take the first step in transforming your approach to early childhood education.

About the speaker
Tricia Mohamed is an early childhood specialist with over 25 years of experience in London and international educational settings. She founded Play Practitioners to support educators and families in creating play-rich environments that honour each child’s uniqueness.
Her work is informed by global research and neuroscience. This helps educators see the strengths, identities, and cultural wealth children bring to play. With a “glocal” perspective, Tricia is committed to decolonising early childhood spaces. She advocates for play as a fundamental right and a catalyst for mattering, confidence, and innovation.
She is dedicated to equipping adults with practical, evidence-based strategies that celebrate children’s individuality.
